Atari Centipede
Atari Centipede is a classic fixed shooter arcade game where players must defend against an onslaught of bugs like centipedes, spiders, scorpions, and fleas using a bugblaster. The objective is to survive for as long as possible in this thrilling game. The bugblaster shoots small darts at the segmented centipede, which typically comprises 10 to 12 body parts, including its head. Each segment of the centipede transforms into a mushroom upon being hit, and the individual pieces continue their descent towards the player. Only by targeting and destroying the head can the centipede be eliminated. In this game, players can control the bugblaster using either the keyboard or mouse to maneuver and shoot at the advancing centipede. It is crucial to master precision and timing to fend off the insect enemies effectively and achieve a high score.
